i use brush pens to colour my comic. But beware some are not fade proof and not black enough. Mine works well but i dont know what brand it is since it has japanese wordings all over it.

  3. djwaglmuffin Says:

…so does nobody use pen nibs anymore?

  4. ComicbookBassman Says:

Higgins Black Magic USED TO BE the best ink in the Universe — NOT anymore, unfortunatelly. It’s a grey-ish mush nowadays and the best ink imaginable happens to be TALENS, a Dutch brand. Also FW acrylic artists ink is wonderful - black of course for inkers. Does wonders in both brush and dip-pen. WARNING: brushes need to be baby-ed, washed with mild soap after use - and along with nibs RINSED in a jar with water frequently. If ink stiffens inside the bristles… uuugggghh…

a good ink to use is higgin’s black magic… works well with a 500 series paper….the paper just soaks up every bit of ink…

  7. Paulius1981 Says:

Brattyben, you’re mixing up a ‘contour line’ and a ‘contourED line’. What he says is correct.

  8. LilNefty Says:

what kind of ink does he use and that white stuff because my ink turns kind of dark grey when it drys and my white thing turns all pearl or tan

  9. BloodySmileTenken Says:

What ink is he using? I use Indian Ink (India ink or Chinese ink) and It’s not as dark. It’s kinda gray when it drys. But when his drys its BLACK. What kind?

  10. miatageekscott Says:

why did you get a thumbs down for that comment?

  11. brattyben Says:

Contour doesn’t mean ‘thick to thin’. It means the line that encloses the shape of the subject.
You were thinking line wieght variation.
    Beautiful stuff by the way.

  14. Zeelxx Says:

    Not likely.

  15. Nigja28 Says:

Great video, the only problem is the lighting in the room seems a little too dim.

  16. frankpatriot Says:

What size sable brush is he using?

  17. squalleonheart8 Says:

wow very artistic, i know how to draw but im not very good at it. and i even can write a story. wow, write and draw, what a talent i have! :D

  18. Dragontohancock Says:

I need some help to write the stories and the lettering

  19. griffybutt Says:

Oh, and malay8881 has a great point. Arguments back and forth about tools are fine but there are artists who can get art to look good if they’re using a sable, a nib, a micron pen. a ballpoint or whatever. Try them all! All those tools are for you!

  20. griffybutt Says:

bell02 is- I THINK - referring to “Deleter” brand products. They’re a Japanese company and here in Seattle, the only place stocking their stuff is Kinokuniya bookstore in the International District. Hard to find stuff in the U.S. for sure. Me, I’m happy with Speedball nibs, Dr. Martin’s Blackstar ink and a nasty can of denatured alchohol for cleaning but then, I tend to take difficult routes when the ink’s giving me what I want.

  21. malay8881 Says:

he a pro thats why its pretty if the amature use that brush i think its look crap all about hardship not the tool i think

  22. MuhammedTheDog Says:

Yeah, Higgins has been used for like 60-70 years by the big comic book giants as far as I know. And hey - it’s cheap!

  23. Funnyobros Says:

where do i buy the ink

  24. fjldesignanddrafting Says:

Thanks for the suggestion. I bought a Faber-Castell pitt pen with a brush tip that works well, but not for detail work. I’ll try the G-pen while gazing at my Bachalo Uncanny X-Men framed original for inspiration.
